Téa Samia (b. 2004) is an interdisciplinary artist currently pursuing her BA at Pomona College. Samia is a Los Angeles based artist whose work is rooted in the confrontation and abstraction of found objects and memory. Her work stems from the environment she occupies, from straightforward observations, to expectations of the world, she is inspired by a sobering perspective. She spends much of her process collecting, organizing and treating garbage that she intentionally seeks from city streets and beaches. Her paintings and assemblage sculptures are directly related to her interest in reflecting on personal habits, collective behaviors, and cognitive dissonance. Her art can be contradictory, illusionary, comedic and confrontational. She explores the opportunities and limitations of materials in each projects she pursues is continuously evolving her practice as she learns new skills.

Apart from being a full-time student, Téa has invested countless hours in giving back to the community with art education for children and collaborative advocative art workshops with the West Side Impact Project in Los Angeles. She has shown work in many group exhibitions in Los Angeles and LA and interested in making more works collaboratively in the future.
